Item SV-250701: The homeowners at 208 Devin Drive requested a variance to allow landscaping improvements and the addition of a permeable off-street parking pad. They explained the current impervious surface percentage would slightly decrease, and their goal was both to improve the yard's appearance and fix a safety concern caused by a blind spot near their residence, and that removing one car from street parking would make the area safer for children walking home from school. Board members asked questions about the blind spot, permeability, and drainage. Despite their explanations and a neighbor’s letter of support, the request was denied.
Item SV-250702: The homeowner at 401 Devin Drive requested an eight-foot variance to place a metal fence closer to the property line, aiming to provide a safe play space for her children and dogs. She emphasized that the fence would still be at least 15 feet from the curb and would not impact visibility. She also noted similar fences in the neighborhood and clarified that the fence would be a four-foot open metal design, not a privacy fence. While the board discussed the style, location, and tree root protection, the request was ultimately denied.
