ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed BIDS for Green Springs Highway Improvements will be received by the City of Homewood until 3:00 p.m. on the 19^th day of August 2025, at the office of City Clerk, 2^nd Floor City Hall, 2850 19^th Street South, Homewood, AL 35209. Bids will be opened at 3:01 p.m. on the 19^th day of August 2025, at the office of the City Clerk, 2^nd Floor City Hall, 2850 19^th Street South, Homewood, AL 35209.

Scope of Work:

The project scope includes stormwater infrastructure, resurfacing, sidewalks, and grading along Green Springs Highway, between approximately Broadway Street to AL SR 149 (Lakeshore Parkway) and around Woodmont Drive. Construction of the improvements will require curb & gutter, landscaping, tree/vegetation removal, and utility coordination. Erosion control and traffic control is also be included in the project scope.

Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained at Alabama Graphics, 2801 5^th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233 or downloaded online at www.algraphicsplanroom.com. Payment for plans is the responsibility of the Contractor. 

The project is being bid EXCLUDING TAXES and requires the Contractor to comply with the requirements of Act 2013-205 which was signed into law May 19, 2013. The Contractor and Owner will be required to apply for Certificates of Exemption with the Alabama Department of Revenue which will handle the administration of the certificates.

The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. Each BIDDER must deposit with his/her BID security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. The successful BIDDER will be required to submit 100% Performance and Payment Bonds.

All BIDDERS must comply with the requirements of the Contractor's Licensing Law of the State of Alabama and be certified for the type of work for which a proposal is submitted. The submission of the BIDDER's current State of Alabama License number will be required before his/her BID will be received or considered and shall be written on the outside of the envelope in which BID is submitted.

No BIDDER may withdraw his/her BID within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

Pre-Bid Conference (Mandatory): A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11:00 am at the intersection of Broadway Street and Green Springs Highway in Homewood, Alabama, 35209. Bidders must attend.
