Homewood Public Library New Finishes Phase 4

               Sealed proposals will be received at Homewood City Hall, 2nd Floor City Clerk’s Office, 2850 19th Street South, Homewood, AL 35209 until 3:00 CDT October 30, 2025.
Bids will be opened at 3:01 PM CDT on October 30, 2025 at Homewood City Hall, 2nd Floor City Clerk’s Office, 2850 19th Street South, Homewood, AL 35209 for:
Construction of the Homewood Public Library New Finishes Phase 4

A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to the City of Homewood amount less than five (5) percent of the of an amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00, must accompany the bidder’s proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract.

The project consists of new carpeting, new LVT and lighting, and restroom renovations in the administrative and children’s library areas of the Homewood Public Library.

Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished in the Project Manual. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner’s judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. General Contractor’s License number and type must be on the envelope for bid to be accepted.

Sealed bids for the construction of a multi-use path and sidewalk in Homewood, AL will be received by the Homewood City Clerk, 2850 19th Street South, Homewood, AL 35209 until October 30, 2025 at 3:00 PM. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time. No bids shall be accepted after this time.

The project will consist of approximately 1,860 LF of multi-use path construction. The engineer’s estimated cost is $946,361.70, including CE&I and a 10% contingency. The primary work items include clearing, removals, grading, drainage, multi-use path, sidewalk, curbs, and handrail. Payment for plans is the responsibility of the Contractor.

All bidders must be licensed by the State of Alabama Licensing Board of General Contractors, as required by Chap 8 of Title 34 of the Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope. A bid bond is required.

The City of Homewood reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding process. The City reserves the right to hold the bids for a period of 60 days after receiving the bids until notice of award.

Pre-Bid Conference (Mandatory): A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on October 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM behind Luca and Hero Donuts, located at 1722 28th Ave S, Homewood, AL 35209. Bidders must attend.
