Project Overview

Sealed bids for the construction of a parking lot and associated site work in Homewood, Alabama, will be received by the Homewood City Clerk at the address listed above until May 28, 2026 at 10:00am CST.

All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time. No bids will be accepted after this deadline.

The project will include site improvements such as:

  • Demolition of the existing gravel parking surface
  • Construction of a new asphalt paved parking lot
  • Installation of underground stormwater detention with associated piping and structures
  • Grading and drainage improvements
  • Parking lot striping
  • Site lighting
  • Landscaping
  • Related site work

Primary work items include clearing, removals, grading, drainage, asphalt paving, landscaping, lighting, curb and gutter work, and striping.

Bid Requirements

  • All bidders must be licensed by the State of Alabama Licensing Board of General Contractors, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34 of the Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended.
  • All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope.
  • A bid bond is required.



City Rights

The City of Homewood reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding process.The City also reserves the right to hold bids for a period of 60 days after receipt until notice of award.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held: May 14, 2026 at 2:00pm

Project Scope

The project will consist of landscape, hardscape, irrigation, electrical, and concrete work to be constructed at the US 31 pedestrian tunnel at Oxmoor Road and US Highway 31. Construction of the improvements will require stone veneer, fencing, columns, and related work.
