How the Process Works
Submit a Request
Use the City's online Traffic Calming Request & Feedback form to identify the location and concern.
Engineering Review
City Engineering reviews the request and collects traffic data so the concern can be evaluated using the City's standards.
Complete Streets Review
The request moves through the Complete Streets Advisory Committee for an additional neighborhood-street review.
Technical Review
Planning, Traffic, Police and Fire review the request. Their input helps determine whether a proposed measure is appropriate and safe.
Area Review
The mayor and the councilor representing the area review the request before it advances to the resident petition stage.
Resident Petition
If the request advances, affected residents move into the petition process required by the City's traffic calming policy.
Improvement Path
When a location qualifies and required approvals are completed, the City can move toward an appropriate traffic calming improvement.
