Finance Highlights 07/01/24
1. Committee approved a request to enter an annual managed EDR (Electronic Data and Response) subscription. This is a proactive method to better monitor and secure all city devices devices. This is software that will be installed on every city device to check for malware, security issues, and real-time monitoring, which is included in the cost. Committee agreed for it not to exceed $24k in cost. This item now goes for a full vote from the council July 8, 2024.
2. Committee approved a request for permission for the mayor to execute a Construction Agreement with ALDOT for the ATRIP II Project on US-31. This is a $2 million grant to go toward the project that will provide pedestrian improvements, access management, and light traffic signal upgrades along Hwy 31. This item now goes for a full vote from the council July 8, 2024.

Public Works Highlights 07/01/24
1. Committee carried over a request to install a fence at 12 Pamona Avenue. The resident is requesting to build a fence that would run partly on city property. After discussion, resident was given a chance to look at purchasing the area that the city owns.

Planning & Development Highlights 07/01/24
1. Committee approved without recommendation a public Hearing set for July 8, 2024 at 6:00pm for consideration to rezone 2917 Linden Avenue, from C-1 (Office Building District) to C-4a (Retail Shopping District) to facilitate its redevelopment for appropriate retail uses. The Planning Commission had a vote of 5-0 for a favorable recommendation.
