City Council meeting highlights, May 20, 2024
1. Council approved a motion for a request to hire four new police officers so that current SRO slots being filled with reserve police officers that are under contract with the Homewood BOE can be replaced with full-time officers. The dilemma with the current system that exists is that the chief of police has to have enough patrol officers before reassigning any of them as SRO's. The cost to hire these officers will be around $250K, with 80% of that cost being reimbursed by the school system.
2. Council approved sign variances that included new signage for Rob E'Mans and Morgan Stanley.
3. Council approved the Final Development Plan for Bank of America to be built at the Green Springs shopping center.
