1. Homewood Mayor Patrick McClusky honored the Lakeshore Foundation Lakers wheelchair basketball team with a proclamation. The team just clinched the varsity junior national championship. This marks their second consecutive winning season, giving them back-to-back trophies for their program. Congratulations to the Lakers for another fantastic season!
2. Council approved a request to upgrade the current PC Network Tech position to a Network Systems Administrator. The will allow the city to have an employee that can do the work that is currently being contracted out at $13,000 a month. It is an increase of $15,000 per year.
3. Council approved a request for the mayor to sign an agreement with the City of Mountain Brook for fire equipment. This is about sharing resources. This will allow for each jurisdiction to use each others equipment and staff when needed. This works especially well for specially trained personal for very specific things that can respond to either jurisdiction where needed.
4. Council approved a request to authorize an ordinance to prevent non-authorized vehicles (motorcycles, golf carts, etc.) on the Greenway Phase I and II trails (this does not include anything electric powered).
