Council meeting highlights, July 8, 2024
1. Council approved approved a request to enter an annual managed EDR (Electronic Data and Response) subscription. This is a proactive method to better monitor and secure all city devices devices. This is software that will be installed on every city device to check for malware, security issues, and real-time monitoring, which is included in the cost. Council agreed for it not to exceed $24k in cost.
2. Council approved a rezone of 2917 Linden Avenue, from C-1 (Office Building District) to C-4 (a) (Retail Shopping District) to facilitate its redevelopment for new tenant Full Circle.
3. Council approved a request for permission for the mayor to execute a Construction Agreement with ALDOT for the ATRIP II Project on US-31. This is a $2 million grant to go toward the project that will provide pedestrian improvements, access management, and light traffic signal upgrades along Hwy 31.
